We will cover what we currently know about the relative competitive advantage of multi-business firms as well as the critical trade-offs they face. The Corporate Strategy literature has recently made significant advances in the study of resource redeployment across firm units that we will analyze in depth. We will discuss its implications for organizational design and end with a discussion of the most promising future research lines in this issue.
