The session will cover: (1) Overview of Property Rights Theory; (2) Property rights issues within firms; (3) Use of formal contracts between organizational units to alleviate property rights issues; (4) Credibility & enforceability of formal contracts between organizational units; (5) Determinants of the allocation property rights within firms; (6) Performance implications.

Throughout this session, I plan to discuss some of the challenges for research in this area, gaps in the literature, and opportunities for future research.
